I need to be a straight-A student to apply

While you do need to be able to demonstrate that you can cope with your studies while overseas, there is no minimum grade you need to meet in order to apply.

I need to be enrolled at a New Zealand tertiary institution to be eligible

You can be a student, a recent graduate or someone who has been in the workforce for a while. There is no upper age limit for applicants.

 For those who are already working, we are generally looking for applicants in the early stages of their career.

Both references need to be academic

We definitely want to see at least one academic reference, however we also want a reference who can comment on your character – your leadership potential, your attitude to learning, or how you handle pressure. So we prefer the second reference to be an employer, sports coach or mentor. References should not however be a family member of friend.

I have to have my study or internship programme confirmed before I apply for the scholarship.

While it’s great if you do have these details confirmed, we do understand that this is not always possible due to the scholarship round dates and programme dates. If your application is successful, any award will be conditional on official acceptance into the programme.
