On 31 August, 28 New Zealand providers attended the ENZ Agent Seminar in Seoul. The event was a great opportunity for New Zealand institutions to network with local education agents and gain valuable insights into the Korean market. This event included networking opportunities, along with one-to-one meetings, allowing New Zealand education providers to build strong connections and partnerships with over 50 local agents, educators, and alumni, and gain valuable insights into the Korean education landscape.

ENZ and Massey University co-organised a Massey University Friends & Alumni Reception at the New Zealand Embassy in Beijing on 27 August. About 50 participants including alumni and partners of Massey University attended the event.  

ENZ Regional Director Greater China Michael Zhang (pictured) delivered a speech at the event, alongside New Zealand Ambassador to China H.E Grahame Morton; Vice Chancellor of Massey University Professor Jan Thomas and an alumni representative.

ENZ Director of Engagement Latin America Javiera Visedo visited New Zealand last month and spent a few weeks reconnecting with providers and stakeholders across the motu. During her visit to Auckland, she delivered a market insights session on Latin America to representatives from the Private Training Establishment sector. It was a great opportunity to share updates and discuss ideas for engagement in the region.  

India

ENZ India team organised a workshop for High School Career Counsellors at the New Zealand High Commission, New Delhi on Saturday 2 September. The workshop was attended by all eight NZ universities (virtually by Otago) and counsellors from 14 high quality schools in Delhi NCR, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh joined the sessions to build strategic relationships with New Zealand universities.

Representatives from Thai schools received their certificates of participation for attending the New Zealand – Thailand Digital Classroom Programme and NZAsiaTech Code Camp 2023 at the opening ceremony of the NZ Education Fair.  From left, a student from Thai Christian School, a teacher from Suankularb Wittayalai Rangsit School, H.E. ENZ Team Thailand delivered the annual NZ Education Fair to 1,630 visitors who joined the event to talk to the 50+ education providers representing New Zealand education across the school, vocational, English language and university sectors. On the day several awards were presented to recognise the important people to people relationships between Thailand and New Zealand.

Phuket Teacher Webinar 1

ENZ Team Thailand hosted a teacher webinar entitled ‘The Inquiring Teacher: Approaches to Inquiry Teaching and Learning in Aotearoa New Zealand’ in partnership with the New Zealand Embassy Bangkok, and the Phuket Provincial Education Office in early August, which attracted over 110 teachers across Thailand. The webinar showcased the New Zealand education system and our approaches to inquiry teaching and learning.
