The 10-year anniversary of the “Game on English” study abroad programme was celebrated at the New Zealand Embassy on 5 September.  

The programme uniquely combines English language study and sports training. Students from this year’s cohort gave presentations about their experiences at Hamilton Boys’ High School.  

The event was attended by students from Kokugakuin University Tochigi Gakuen and Toin Gakuen High School who participated in the programme and their parents. Representatives from ENZ joined New Zealand organisations and agencies also involved in the programme including, Fonterra, Air New Zealand, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

ENZ represented New Zealand at the AC Expo – the main exchange fair for Oceania in Brazil, organised by Australian Centre agency. 

ENZ Senior Market Development Manager Bruna Natale hosted a series of lectures, presenting Aotearoa New Zealand as a study destination to Brazilians. Bruna and was kindly supported at the New Zealand booth by Whitecliffe Regional Marketing Representative Fernanda Lassala.

11 New Zealand secondary schools and 15 Italian agents met in Rome this week to connect and identify opportunities to work together. ENZ Market Development Manager Adina Stoye attended to connect with agents, provide information about ENZ activity in Italy and highlight ENZ resources for agents. Adina said the room was "buzzing with energy".  

Italy is the second largest source of high school students from Europe and there is strong interest from both countries to grow this number. The New Zealand secondary schools in attendance were Auckland Grammar School, Botany Downs Secondary College, Epsom Girls' Grammar School, Kristin College, Macleans College, Mount Albert Grammar School, Mount Manganui College, Paraparaumu College International, Taupo nui-a-Tia College, Westland High School and Whakatane High School.  

This event was made possible thanks to the lead and initiative of Epsom Grammar School International Director Terry Kraettli and the hospitality of New Zealand Ambassador to Italy H.E. Jackie Frizelle.

ENZ Director of Engagement East Asia and India Jugnu Roy represented New Zealand at the Eduverse Summit 2024 

Jugnu (third from left) is pictured participating in the AI & Big Data: Pioneering the next frontier in educational transformation panel discussion. She highlighted the impact of AI across industries and its adoption in education.  

Jugnu also delivered a keynote address on New Zealand- India educational collaborations.

ENZ Regional Director Greater China Michael Zhang and ENZ Market Development Manager Jane Liu attended an agent workshop in Beijing hosted by the University of Waikato. 

Michael gave an opening speech, talking about the bilateral education relationship between New Zealand and China and provided an update on the New Zealand education landscape. About 40 agents attended the workshop to learn about the University of Waikato’s academic offerings and more about New Zealand as a study destination.
