NZEducationEvent 258 v2

October marked the peak period for student fairs and agent events in several of our focus markets including in Japan, South Korea and Viet Nam. These events are an important channel for raising awareness of New Zealand and the study opportunities available as students and their families go through the study abroad decision-making process.

First up was the Japan student fair held in Tokyo which attracted 516 students, up from 366 in 2023. They were able to hear from the 54 New Zealand providers who were on hand to talk through the study options available. Copies of the newly published Study in New Zealand Guidebook in Japanese for 2024-25 were distributed at the ENZ student fair and seminars as the official information source about New Zealand study abroad.

The agent events in Tokyo and Osaka were also extremely popular this year with 107 and 58 agents/educators attending the respective locations.

An agent said they found the experience valuable, “Thank you for holding the informative seminar. I learned a lot about New Zealand and its education providers. It was a great opportunity to build new connections with New Zealand schools and I have already set up a follow up call with one of the schools that I newly met during the event.”

Another attendee said they were energised from the interactions, “I was worried that I would be exhausted from the 3 hours of individual meetings with teachers from 12 schools, but the 15 minutes at each school was almost like a sprint, and the 3 hours passed in a blink of an eye, and by the end I was not exhausted, but rather feeling fulfilled.”
